My Story
"I've spent the earlier part of my life eating junk, not working out, and hating the way I felt about myself. I have learned that working on my health and fitness was the first step to bettering my life over all."
Ten years ago, I decided to make a change in my life and began my weight loss journey. I started something that I had no idea how to do or where to begin. I was over weight, shy, unhappy with what I saw in the mirror, and in an extremely unhealthy relationship at that time. My life seemed to be going steadily down hill until that point. I did not believe in myself and certainly didn't think it was possible to change the way I looked and began to accept that this was just the way I was made.
I wasn't until 2004, around the time of the low carb craze, that I decided to make a change and learn how to become more healthy and fit. Having zero motivation to workout, and not a clue where to start, I turned to home fitness programs. Stepping foot in a gym was out of the question for me at that time as I had little self esteem and was extremely fearful of what others would think. I hated the idea of working out in the beginning, but I knew it was vital to combine eating right and exercise if I really wanted to change my body composition for the long run.
I gradually learned how to make this an over all healthy lifestyle change and have lost 60lbs within 6 months from Beachbody programs (Turbo & Insanity). I found my love for fitness through one of my biggest inspirations, Chalene Johnson, and her Turbo Jam program.
Fast forward to today, and I am now Fitness/Life coach and certified personal trainer in NYC with my own health and fitness business. After my weight loss journey, I found a new love, a new hobby, a new passion in life. I knew that if I could do this, ANYONE could do this!
3 KEYS TO SUCCESS
NEVER EVER ever give up
NEVER ever ever ever give up!! You have got to keep your goals in the front of your mind to succeed. Your desire to succeed must be greater then your fear of failure. When you do feel like giving up, remind yourself why you started in the first place. Whether you work on your goals or not--- the time will pass either way! JUST DO IT!
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT aka Self Help
ALWAYS work on YOU-- and by that I mean your mindset and personal growth! As you become aware of your thoughts, and how you FEEL about yourself, you will begin to realize that you have SO much more control over the direction of your whole entire life (in EVERY area of life) then you could have ever imagined!
SET GOALS, and WRITE THEM DOWN
Setting your goals is the first key to success. Only 3% of people actually write their goals down! Being clear, and specific about your goals and having them on paper makes them become more "real" for you, and subconsciously you will put more effort in working towards reaching them!
