STEP 1-  INVITE/ASK QUESTIONS

 

Below is an example of a real convo.  If someone reaches out to you, you can start here.  Other wise, when you are inviting people, your first step is to simply ask (after you have built rapport) "I am starting a fitness challenge on ___ , would this be something you might be interested in?"

 

Me-  Hey Amanda! Thanks for your interest in my challenge group!  I would love to share details.  How long have you been working out and what have you been doing exactly? What are your goals specifically right now...short term and long term and why?

 

Amanda-  I've been working out since jan. We rotate between arms, legs, and abs for about 20 minutes or so then 20-30 minutes on treadmill at least 3 times a week if not 4. I haven't lost anything nor have I gained so I guess that's good. I've noticed no change in my clothes either. I'm just frustrated because I've seen no results. I really want to tone and not lose but I would like to lose a couple lbs so that I would be at an even number. 

 

STEP 2-- FEEL, felt, found--empathise.

 

Now that you know their goals, and their struggles, continue asking questions, find a way to relate with them, and find out WHY they want to change, why this is important to them.  This step may take a couple interactions while you continue to ask questions and uncover their why etc.

 

Me-  Amanda, I totally understand how you feel. I felt the same way at the start of my weight loss journey...it can seem overwhelming and discouraging when you see little or no progress. What helped me was following a solid plan with diet, and workouts. I had no idea what to do for workouts, and decided to start with home workout programs like Turbo Fire and Insanity along with changing my eating habits. 

 

Congrats on losing the 50lbs!! That is a big accomplishment! Are you still trying to lose weight, or just tone up? If so, how much are you trying to lose? It sounds like you are off to a good start, are you doing anything for strength training, or just cardio?

 

Amanda-  Thanks so much. I mainly want to tone bit I would like to lose another 5 lbs. I would definitely like more info on the challenge.

 

 

****  Briefly explain, restate their GOAL and ASK what kinds of workouts they may like.  Let them realize the solution on their own and GUIDE them to what can help

 

Me- Your welcome!  I run challenges every month to help people with their health and fitness goals and hold you accountable to getting the results you want by connecting you with a workout program/nutrition plan and support to get you there. I am positive this will help you lose the last 5lbs and tone up as well as teach you healthy habits that will stick. I work with a small group of about 5 others each month and we work together in a private FB group. It's a fun, intimate, supportive way to stay on track and make new friends along the way and hopefully it will inspire you to inspire others too.

 

Just a couple more questions so I can figure what the best recommendations are for you. Is diet something you struggle with a lot also? What type of workouts do you think you would like best--a mix of cardio&strength training, high intensity interval training, something shorter under 30 min, kickboxing, or something more dancy?

 

Amanda-  Probable strength training and cardio would be best. I do good with diet during the week. But the weekend I do struggle.

 

 

STEP 3- RECOMMEND

 

Share at least 2 options based on what they would like as well as their goals..and SHARE video preview of at least 2 options for programs they might like.  ASK  "If I send you a video, would you watch?"

 

Me- Ok Amanda, I think that 21 Day Fix or P90X3 might be great for you.  If I send you a couple video previews for both programs, would you have a few min to watch them??

 

April- Yes, please send them!

 

 

*** Get a time committment for when they can watch the videos before you send them so that you know *WHEN* to follow up.  

 

Me-  Ok great, I will send them in a bit.  When can you watch them for sure so I can follow up with you?

 

Amanda-  I can watch them later on tonight around 8pm when I get home from work.

 

Me- Ok great, Watch these 2 video previews for each, and let me know which you think you would like best.  I will speak to you later on this eve.

**** FOLLOW UP if they have not written back in a day or 2...

 

Me- Hey Amanda, just wanted to follow up with you. Which program did you like best of those two? Did you have any questions about either?

 

Amanda- k I just watched them both and I like what I see on both however im thinking maybe the 21 day fix.

 

 

STEP 4- Shakeology.  

 

Tell them about Shakeology, and once they agree, you can help them get set up.

Amanda-  That sounds great! Yea I have heard of the shakes and always wanted to try them. A huge problem I have is not that I overeat , its that I dont eat enough and when I do eat its something fast, unhealthy and usually late in the day.  I need to get my nutrition back on track, and replacing one meal with a shake is no problem since I dont eat alot of meals during the day anyway. So for everything your suggesting, which sounds great, how much would it be? I am more ready then ever to get healthy and fit again, I am miserable the way I look now lol I was always skinny so this is really upsetting for me to have gained this much weight. So as long as I can afford this then I am ready to start whenever 

 

 

STEP 5- GET THEM SET UP.   

 

Give them the DEADLINE for their order so they get it in time to start your group.  If they need help, walk them through it over the phone, or simply ask their email and use the "Coach Mobile" app to set them up.
